Founded in 1956 by the Department of Pediatrics of Shanghai Medical College, the Children’s Hospital of Chongqing Medical University is a Grade III Level A specialized hospital integrating medical care, education, and research. As the National Children’s Regional Medical Center (Southwest), it operates two campuses – Yuzhong and Liangjiang – with 2,480 authorized beds. The hospital is also a National Clinical Research Center and a national first-class undergraduate program construction unit. In the 2019 national performance evaluation of tertiary public hospitals, it ranked third among children’s hospitals nationwide. In 2022, it handled over 3 million outpatient and emergency visits, underscoring the enormous demand for reliable, high-quality medical infrastructure.

The Challenge
A busy pediatric outpatient clinic demands an air supply that is not only clean and stable but also exceptionally quiet to maintain a calm, childfriendly environment. At the same time, the hospital required a system capable of continuous operation under demanding conditions, with minimal contamination risk – a critical factor in healthcare settings. Energy efficiency was another priority, as the hospital sought to reduce longterm operational costs while ensuring uninterrupted service for thousands of daily patients.

Our Solution
We supplied the LU30PMi, a 30kW oil-injected permanent magnet variable speed twinscrew compressor, paired with a complete LIUTECH air treatment package. This combination delivers outstanding performance in key parameters such as Free Air Delivery (FAD) and overall energy consumption, placing it at the forefront of the industry.

Designed for extreme continuous-duty cycles, the LU30PMi features fully enclosed rotating parts to prevent contamination, ensuring long-term, troublefree operation – perfectly aligned with the hospital’s strict hygiene requirements. The variable speed drive automatically adjusts motor speed to actual air demand, substantially reducing electricity consumption. The integrated LIUTECH aftertreatment system guarantees a steady supply of clean, dry, and oil-free air, meeting the most stringent medical air quality standards.

Training & Support
To ensure seamless integration and optimal performance, our technical team provided on-site training for the hospital’s medical and engineering staff. The training covered the working principle of the screw compressor, daily routine maintenance procedures, and safe operating practices.
